Overview

We’re recruiting a Graphic Designer to help drive our new brand identity and bring exciting campaigns to life.

At Walker Morris, our brand gives you the freedom to push boundaries. We’re a firm that refuses to follow the expected path, and our creative team plays a central role in redefining what communications from a law firm can — and should — look like. With the business growing at pace, we are expanding the Marketing & Business Development team, and we’re excited to introduce an opportunity for a Graphic Designer to join us.

This is your chance to work within a small, talented Design team where your ideas won’t just be heard, they’ll help shape the future of the Walker Morris brand. You’ll play a key role in the rollout of our refreshed brand identity, contributing to major projects that underpin our ambitious growth strategy. Reporting to our Creative Lead, you’ll be supported to develop your skills, explore new techniques, and bring your design perspective to a wide range of creative challenges.

Your work will be varied, purposeful, and far from repetitive. Throughout the year, you’ll contribute to bold marketing campaigns on themes such as AI, technology and digital transformation, and cybersecurity, developing engaging B2B content for our clients while collaborating with internal stakeholders on projects that bring our culture and values to life. You’ll have ownership of your work, influence design direction, and help create impactful communications across both internal and external channels.

If you’re looking for a role that blends creative freedom with real responsibility and offers exposure to a wide variety of design disciplines and campaign types, this is an opportunity to make your mark. We’re committed to helping you grow, with access to training to advance your skills and the support of a team that values curiosity, collaboration, and fresh thinking.

As the Graphic Designer, you will:

  • Produce impactful graphics and branded materials both for print and digital including brochures, leaflets, adverts, events materials, social media content, website graphics, other internal assets etc.

  • Work with the Creative Lead to develop concepts and ideas.
  • Work with legal and business service teams to take briefs, create assets and complete work, managing expectations throughout the process.
  • Assist with video filming, edit videos and create animations on After Effects and Premiere (training will be provided).
  • Utilise and manage our design software package, MARQ, encouraging teams to be self-sufficient.
  • Support the Creative Lead on collection of assets for BAU activities such as imagery, email and website assets.
  • Work within brand guidelines and be a gatekeeper for them, monitoring design/visual work being created across the business.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Bids team with design work in Word, PowerPoint and InDesign to support bids and tenders.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Events + BD team with PowerPoint presentation design.

  • Experience of working in a design agency or in-house design role for 3+ years.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Proven experience interpreting and following a brief, understanding how to bring to life key messages and concepts.
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of creativity and accuracy to drive and create a suite of design and graphic assets to reflect our brand and uphold its reputation.
  • An excellent understanding of composition and layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.

It's an approach that's getting us noticed and introducing opportunities from existing as well as new clients for more complex, higher value work. To show that we're different, our marketing & communications need to stand out in the overcrowded typical law firm landscape.
