Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst.

As a Senior AML Analyst, you'll be instrumental in ensuring our adherence to AML regulations and safeguarding our operations against financial crime.

We offer hybrid working at Walker Morris, so you’ll be able to split your time between home and the office, with 3 days in the office per week.

 

As the Senior AML Analyst, you will:

 

  • Provide expert guidance and oversight in AML operations.
  • Develop and implement advanced AML strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct complex AML investigations escalating findings to the AML Manager, MLCO, and MLRO where necessary.
  • Utilising sophisticated analytical tools and methodologies to analyse client information and behaviour for potential risks.
  • Expertly collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to gather information and support ongoing investigations and reviews.
  • Enhance AML processes and identify emerging risks.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all things AML related.
  • Providing training and mentoring to staff including partners, fee earners, and Pas.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continually enhance AML processes
  • Providing expert guidance and oversight.
  • Develop and implement advanced AML strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings and investigations.
  • Acting as escalation point for junior members of the teams

We are looking for:

 

  • At least 5+ years' of AML/CDD experience of experience in financial crime investigations and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to reduce complex legislation and guidance into concise easy to understand instructions.
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of financial crime regulations, including AML, KYC, CDD, and sanctions compliance.
  • Ability to utilise strong academic ability alongside common sense to interpret rules and regulations.
  • A team player with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to identify the client due diligence requirements of corporate and individual clients.
  • A good understanding of the SRA Standards and Regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Resilient and calm under pressure.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach.
  • Ability to work with and manage confidential information.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CAMS, ICA) are preferred.
