Overview

Are you an experienced secretary ready to take the next step in your career, or a seasoned PA looking for a new challenge? We are recruiting for a PA to join our fast-paced Employment law team.

 

The Employment team is a busy and continually growing department, and you will be tasked with streamlining processes and identifying efficiencies, enabling you to positively impact the team's performance.

 

As the PA, you will:

  • Financial hygiene management – management of outstanding and complex WIP (work in progress), including closing files in line with Walker Morris' processes and procedures, and ensuring processes for applying rates are followed.
  • Billing processes – oversee department's billing and WIP (work in progress) procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliant. Keep updated with individual client's billing processes.
  • Compliance and AML (anti-money laundering) administration – work closely with the Risk and Compliance team to understand and take a proactive role in client onboarding. Audit client matters to ensure file closure procedures are and efficient billing processes are implemented.
  • Complex travel arrangements - planning and booking domestic and international travel arrangements.
  • Advanced diary management – provide efficient and proactive coordination of schedules, meetings and appointments.
  • Business development and event coordination – highlight opportunities for business development and cross selling, ensuring accurate recording of events and attendees.
  • Stakeholder management – attend stakeholder meetings to collate information and offer proactive coordination of WIP (work in progress) actions, and update the department on any firm-wide compliance changes.
  • Workload management - Delegation of tasks to the wider support team, and upskilling team members.

We are looking for:

  • Experience in a similar position is preferred, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Experience of carrying out client due diligence, financial hygiene and matter management is essential.
  • Strong stakeholder management, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of prioritising workload and delegating tasks as required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work confidentially and on highly confidential matters; respecting and maintaining the confidentiality of all information relating to Walker Morris and clients' matters.

Some of our benefits include:

  • Salary reflective of your experience, circa. £28,000 to £35,000
  • Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme.
  • Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
  • Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we'll contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary. 
  • 4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
  • This role is initially a work from office position during your probation period. Once complete we offer hybrid working Monday to Friday, our office is based in Leeds City Centre.
