Overview

Are you an experienced administrator or secretary? We are recruiting for a Secretary to join our fast-paced Employment law team.

 

Working alongside experienced secretaries and PAs within our Employment team, a legal fee earning department, you'll ensure that enquiries are dealt with efficiently. Your role as a secretary is crucial to the department's productivity as you will offer vital administrative support, coordination and diary management. No two days will be the same and so you'll benefit from having a proactive approach to work with excellent prioritisation and organisation skills.

As a Secretary, you will:

  • Diary Management – you will coordinate schedules, meetings and appointments.
  • Arrange meetings – book meeting rooms and refreshments, and ensure the relevant parties are notified in a timely manner.
  • Travel Arrangements – planning and booking travel arrangements, ensuring the traveller has the relevant information for their trip.
  • Billing support – liaising with solicitors and the finance team to process invoices
  • File management – opening and closing of files with regular filing of hard and soft copy client-related correspondence in line with our company procedures.
  • On-board clients – prepare client letters and ensure the relevant documentation is completed.
  • Enquiry management – handle telephone and email enquiries
  • General administrative duties – ad-hoc administration tasks as required by the department.

We are looking for:

  • Experience of working within a similar position is preferred but not essential. Legal secretarial or professional services experience would be an advantage.
  • PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally support senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to organise, plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work confidentially and on highly confidential matters; respecting and maintaining the confidentiality of all information relating to Walker Morris and client matters.
  • Shows initiative and provides new ideas to improve team efficiency.

Some of our benefits include:

  • Salary reflective of your experience, circa £26,000 to £28,000
  • Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
  • Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we'll contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary. 
  • Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme.
  • 4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
  • This role is initially a work from office position during your probation period. Once complete we offer hybrid working Monday to Friday, our office is based in Leeds City Centre.
